Quality Engineer

Working for an industry leader with huge expertise in sophisticated thermoplastic parts manufacturing to advance the possibilities of lightweight automotive parts design for the global vehicle industry.

Job Overview:

Develop quality planning strategies, ensuring compliance with product and process requirements. Oversee quality assurance for series production, conducting internal audits and driving continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced product quality planning (APQP) activities, including creating process flow diagrams, FMEAs, control plans, test plans, and work instructions.
  • Manage product and process approval procedures (PPAP) for new and modified products, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Support PPAP assessments and approvals for purchased materials and components.
  • Facilitate FMEAs, product validation plans, and address special requirements.
  • Contribute to pre-series activities, weak point analysis, and report on quality-relevant aspects.
  • Evaluate assembly systems and equipment capabilities for suitability.
  • Assess measuring equipment for appropriate application and capabilities.
  • Conduct product tests and process investigations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Handle quality deviations, complaints, and liaising with customers and suppliers.
  • Participate in KPV and transfer learnings across products and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with certifications (IATF 16949, ISO 14001 etc.) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Prepare quality assurance statistics and data analysis.
  • Conduct internal audits, support external audits, prepare audit reports, action plans, and final reports.
  • Train and educate employees on quality-related topics.
  • Deputize for the Quality Manager as required

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Language Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of German spelling and grammar rules.
  • Proficient in English for effective oral and written communication with customers, suppliers, and employees.
  • Computer Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Level C1 in both German and English
